What product information is needed for the Catalog?

Here is a list:

Product Title

The product title as you would like it to appear in the catalog. This can wrap onto two lines.

Price

Price of the item in U.S. dollars (this can be changed anytime).

Tagline

This is text that can be styled to include light and dark text, bold or italic text.

Your product SKU/ID

This is optional, but if you have a bookkeeping/sales tracking system, we recommend giving us your product sku, code or ID so that the data exported from your Publisher’s Toolbox can be easily imported into your systems or integrated with your data.

Short Description

Description of your product to be seen in the catalog listing, approximately 180 characters max.

Product Icons

1. Main product icon for the catalog listing.
This can be a DVD cover image or any other image you wish to use to represent the product.

We find that the product images look best with a small drop shadow. If you choose to include one, please make sure that it fits within the 80 X 105 pixels and has a transparent background. (Also, make sure that the shadows for all of the product images are at the same angle!)

2. Small product image for “My Stuff” (owned items)

This should be a smaller version of the main product image. It can also have a drop shadow, but the shadow must fit within the 32 X 40 pixels.

What is needed for the products themselves?

In some of the screen shots above you can see a “more info” button next to each product, which customers click to find out more about a product. When clicked, it can do anything you want, such as taking the customer to a web page, or popping up a window in the MOD Machine. If you’d like to pop up a window, it can be any size and be anything you want.

But, we do have guidelines that we recommend for a consistent experience:

We recommend a 1024 x 682 window with the same background graphic and basic layout as your product itself.

Product backgrounds

This is the main background graphic for each product screen.  You can decide to have one background graphic for all your products or a different graphic for each individual product. We can provide you with a Photoshop or Fireworks template.

List of Chapters

MOD Machine allows products to be downloaded in “chunks,” which allows users to watch the beginning of a product a few minutes after purchasing while the rest continues to download in the background. These chunks can correspond to the chapters of a DVD-like product, in which case MOD Machine can allow users to select a chapter individually from a menu.
