The following FAQ is for both Windows & Mac vista_logo apple

  1. Can I watch my programs on a different computer?

Sure, as long as your other computer is connected to the internet!

    1. Download and install MOD Machine onto your second computer the same way you did before
    2. Launch MOD Machine
    3. Click the “options” button in the upper right hand corner and choose “authorize this computer”
    4. Type in the same email address you used to purchase your courses on your first computer, then click OK.

After a short pause, the products you have purchased will show up under “My Stuff” and you’ll be able to download and view them at your convenience.

  2. What if my hard drive crashes or I buy a new computer?

Unlike a DVD, that can be damaged, lost or stolen, you will never lose your MOD Machine products. Just follow the directions under “Can I watch my programs on a different computer?” above.

  3. Can I watch MOD Machine programs on my TV?

Sure, as long as your TV accepts HDMI, DVI, VGA or S-video input, and your computer has the matching output! It’s often easiest if you have a laptop, since a desktop computer might not be located close to your TV set. Just connect the output of your latop to the input of your TV. If you are using HDMI, sound is carried as well, if not, instead of listening on your computer speakers you may want to plug a cable with a mini 1/8″ stereo plug into the headphone output of your computer, and the stereo RCA plugs on the other end into aux inputs on your receiver or TV.

I hook my laptop up to our LCD TV and watch MOD Machine courses (as well as episodes of “24″ from Fox) and they look and sound great!

  4. How long does it take to download a course?

It depends on the length of the course and the speed of your internet connection. The great thing about the MOD Machine courses is that they download in “parts” so after enough parts have downloaded you can start watching while the rest of the course downloads in the background. So for most courses you can usually start watching within a few minutes.

  5. Can I burn what I bought to a DVD?

No, the MOD Machine system is designed to give you instant access to what you've purchased without bothering with finding a disc that could have become scratched, dirty or lost. We know time is the one thing none of us have too much of, so we want you to be able to watch any program in 2 or 3 clicks.

We also are happy that, while 1.6 billion DVDs (and packaging) every year find their ways into landfills, junking up this beautiful planet, MOD Machine is a completely eco-friendly way to buy and view video titles.

  6. Can I put movies on my iPod, iPhone, iPad or other portable device?

We hesitate to tell you are working on an iPod/iPhone/iPad app, because you'll send us emails every day asking when it will be finished :-) So we'll just say, stay tuned, good things will happen in the future, we just don't know when yet!

  7. Can I delete a product from my hard drive to free up space, then redownload it later?

Yes! Just alt-click (Windows) or option-click (Mac) on the product under "My Stuff".

  8. Can I move files to a different hard drive to free up space on my main drive?

This feature is in testing phase, we want to make sure very little can go wrong before we release it. Soon!

  9. Can I pay for products with PayPal?

If you would like to purchase a course using your PayPal account, you can get a one-time use credit card number from PayPal and use that to purchase courses through the MOD Machine system.

Just log into the PayPal website to get more information on this feature.

  10. Can I enjoy my MOD Machine programs even if I’m not connected to the internet?

Yes! When you purchase a product, just make sure the entire product downloads. Then, you can take your laptop to a cabin in the woods, the beach or on an ocean voyage and watch any program you wish.

  11. When I play videos, all I see is a black screen, but I can hear audio. How do I fix this?

Download and install the latest version of the free Quicktime player from Apple’s website here.

  12. What are the system requirements for MOD Machine?

    1. Display resolution 1024 x 768 or larger
    2. Reliable broadband internet connection
    3. Quicktime 7
    4. At least 1.5 GHz processor (Intel recommended), 1 GB RAM

Testimonials

This is the best teaching aid I have used. Add that feature and it far surpasses anything out there -- when coupled with the right media, of course ;) Homespun is a great source of educational content.

As a media delivery tool, I must hand it to you at Leaping Brain! This is perfect. I was perusing your website and noticed that you are selling your product into different markets as well. I never thought about the possibilities for Video On Demand (outside of the normal content delivery of cable companies). What you do, leveraging off of the bandwidth now available to a vast consumer base, has the potential to reach so many more people for good...

This is truly an awesome product.

Keep up the good work!
